Dagmar Dahle
Dagmar Dahle is a Lethbridge-based artist, writer, and teacher. She is an Associate Professor of Art in the University of Lethbridge’s Department of Art. Dahle completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Victoria in 1986 before going on to participate in the Banff Centre for the Arts’ Winter Programme from 1987 to 1989. She obtained a Master of Fine Arts from Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 1991.
Dahle explores the crossing paths of natural and cultural history, birds, the environment, the history of colour theory, art historical subjects, and the aftermath of war. Her visual practice balances research and studio work around material investigations. Dahle has completed residencies and exhibited across Canada and Europe. In 2013 she contributed to “The Cardiff/Miller House” Project organized by the University of Lethbridge Art Gallery.
