Hamilton-born Dianne Bos bases her studio practice in Calgary. She completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Mount Allison University in 1978. Her use of pinhole cameras and long exposure times place her in an important segment of contemporary Canadian photography. The passage of time afforded by long exposure times as opposed to capturing instants of time are common themes in Bos’ photographic works.
Bos has received multiple awards and grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Alberta Foundation for the Arts. She has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions internationally since 1981. The internationally touring exhibition of Dianne Bos’ work, The Sleeping Green: No Man’s Land 100 Years Later was curated by Josephine Mills and began its tour at ULAG.
