Hazel Litzgus
Self-taught artist Hazel Litzgus paints scenes from her prairie childhood and of small-town life. Her vivid watercolours are constructed entirely from memory and with an emphasis on careful detail. In 2003 Litzgus published “Where the Meadowlark Sang: Cherished Scenes from an Artist’s Childhood”, a collection of illustrations and stories.
Her work has been shown and collected around the world. During a Royal visit to Alberta, the city of Calgary presented Queen Elizabeth II with an artwork by Litzgus.
