Freda Waddell
Canadian, Alberta, 1917 - 2009
Calgary artist Freda Waddell had a lifelong interest in art and photography, inspired by a high school job as a portrait studio assistant. Through the 1960s Waddell studied at the Alberta College of Art and Design and later became a founding member of Calgary’s Centennial Art Gallery. She is known for her watercolour nature paintings and sketches of Calgary’s historic sites and buildings.
