Lyndal Osborne
Canadian b. Australia, born 1940
Born in Newcastle, Australia, Lyndal Osborne is an installation and multimedia artist based in Edmonton. She completed a Bachelor of Arts with the National Art School in Sydney and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin. She is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Art and Design at the University of Alberta. Her projects contain found and recycled materials, which Osborne uses to explore transformation within nature and provide environmental commentary. These complete environments repeat these materials on a grand scale, forming patterns with hundreds of the same small items.
Osborne’s work is shown and collected internationally. In 2011, her work Endless Forms Most Beautiful was included in the University of Lethbridge Art Gallery exhibition “Cereal Gen”.
