Francis Kaluraq
Canadian, 1931 - 1990
A sculptor and a printmaker, Francis Kaluraq was born in Kazan River, a 40-kilometer journey across the body of water known as Baker Lake. He later settled in Qamanitu’aq where he and his wife Irene Toweener, also a visual artist, had 5 children.
Francis Kaluraq’s work can be seen at the National Gallery of Canada, the Winnipeg Art Gallery and the Canadian Museum of History, among other significant Canadian collections.
