Peter Sevoga
Canadian, 1940 - 2007
Working for many years in both sculpture and printmaking, Peter Sevoga was one of the first artists to work in printmaking in the community of Qamani’tuaq, participating in the first experimental print workshop as both artist and printmaker in 1965.
His work has been included in multiple exhibitions such as “Masters of the Arctic: An Exhibition of Contemporary Inuit Masterworks at the United Nations General Assembly” in 1989 and is held at the Musée des beaux arts in Montreal, the Glenbow Museum in Calgary, and the Art Gallery of Ontario, among other important collections.
