Delia Cross Child
Delia Cross Child is a Blackfoot artist and educator combining art with tradition, history, and modern sensibilities. She completed a Bachelor of Arts in Art and Native American Studies in 1996 at the University of Lethbridge before completing a Bachelor of Art Education in 2002. She was named a member of the University of Lethbridge Alumni Honour Society in 2009.
Cross Child’s work shows a fascination with the landscape and struggles of her childhood. Her curriculum as a teacher integrates traditional visual literacies to inspire her students. Cross Child’s work has been exhibited at the Glenbow Museum, the Walter Phillips Gallery, and the Southern Alberta Art Gallery. A mural painted by Cross Child, titled “Blackfoot Spaces: A Narrative”, is currently installed at Lethbridge College.
